You have probably asked yourself, why is getting a high school diploma so important? There are 6 benefits to having your high school diploma. According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2011, just over 33 percent of high school graduates earn a bachelor's degree as compared to just under five percent of those who get their GED. If getting a college degree is necessary for your ideal job, earning your high school diploma can significantly improve your chances of completing that degree.
1. Better Job Opportunities
One of the main benefits of having your high school diploma is that you will be able to get better job opportunities. Instead of always being passed by for the good jobs, you’ll have the opportunity to get jobs that are more interesting. No doubt you don’t want to be stuck flipping hamburgers for a living, so having your diploma is important.
2. Makes You Feel Pride
Of course, having your diploma from high school will also make you feel proud. It is quite an accomplishment and you can give yourself a pat on the back knowing you have worked hard to earn your diploma.
3. Additional Incentives
Not only will you feel good about yourself when you graduate from high school, but it helps protect your physical health. You’ll be more likely to have access to medical care (health insurance from your job) and have the funds to pay for it (better salary). Knowing you have a diploma makes you a good role model to younger siblings, or your own kids and grandkids, which will encourage them to stay in school (the circle of life). Plus finishing high school gives you the chance to learn a variety of things. The more you learn, the more well-rounded you'll be as a person, giving you the opportunity to apply for even better jobs!
4. Allows You to Go on to College
Another benefit of having your high school diploma is that having it will allow you to go on to college. No days having a college education is becoming even more and more important. So, if college is in the plans for you, you are going to have to make sure you get your diploma from high school.
5. Higher Wages
Not only can your high school diploma help you get better job opportunities, but it can help you to make more money as well. People who do not have diplomas usually make less money, so if you want to make more money at your job, having a diploma is going to be very important.
6. More Opportunities
A high school diploma offers more lifetime opportunities beyond the job. You're more likely to live above the poverty line, giving you the opportunity to apply for home, car or school loans. With a high school diploma, you'll most likely live in a low crime rate neighborhood and not have any trouble with the law yourself. According to the National Dropout Prevention Center, 82 percent of prisoners in the U.S. are high school dropouts.

That person who wrote a paragraph complaining about this article is completely correct and I agree with every part of it. This is the worst article I've read in my entire life. I'd pay my life savings to never read this article ever again. This is quite possibly the worst thing to exist in human history and whoever wrote this should be ashamed for ever being born and ever thinking of writing an article. I will personally hunt them down. (not actually, just an expression of my hatred of this article)
Worst article I've ever read, the part where the author utters his first word, I was already crying on the ground crying because of it. I suffered agonizing pain reading this article. I would rather lick my friends toe instead ever read this article ever again, and this friend is really stinky and poopy. This article and that friend have many things in common. In conclusion this is the worst ever article I have ever had the privilege of seeing, my eyes are forever scarred for the rest of my life and I think I might end it all. (not actually gonna do it but this was just a way to express my hate for this article)
